ABOUT ADOHE
Street objects,
brought indoors.

ADOHE is an independent design project based in Seoul, created by designer and maker Jiho Yoo.
After spending time in New York, I became interested in the ordinary objects that make up the streets — roadblocks, trash bins, discarded furniture, food carts, construction objects, and things most people walk past without noticing.
ADOHE takes those overlooked street objects and rebuilds them at a smaller scale, giving them a new place and sometimes a new function.
Something from the street becomes an incense holder, a pen holder, or simply an object that sits on your desk.
MADE BY ONE PERSON
I design, prototype, cast, assemble, finish, photograph, and ship each ADOHE object myself from my studio in Seoul.
Concrete, plaster, 3D printing, metal, paint, and other materials are mixed depending on the object. Small variations in texture and surface are part of the process, so no two pieces are completely identical.
THE IDEA
I like taking something people normally ignore
and making it worth looking at again.
